Interconnect Kick-off Meeting
Project partners as well as associated partners met during Interconnect Kick-off Meeting in Karlskrona, Sweden on 4.-5.10.
Interconnect, the project for “Better public transport services for regional and cross-border travels in the South Baltic area” is an EU Interreg South Baltic Programme flagship candidate and addresses the challenge of curbing the car-reliant mobility trend in the area.
Through three thematic work packages on: Evidence, knowledge and experience (Work Package 3); Steering tools and business models (Work Package 4); and Future governance and institutionalisation (Work Package 5), the project will deliver innovative multi-stakeholder planning approaches for sustainable public transport of the future and invest in new and more efficient services for no-car travellers both in and between the partner areas.
Two day discussions included cooperation framework, insight on work packages and coordination of future activities within the project.
The Hanseatic Institute for Entrepreneurship and Regional Development is responsible for Work Package 3 which addresses a demand dimension of public transport systems in serving regional and cross-border travels. It aims at better understanding of the current and future user needs for public transport services in the geographical areas of the project partners.
